CEMETERY Lookups

Volunteers are NEEDED to do lookups in any format reference source related to Cook County. If you own or have access to any Cook County genealogy reference sources, please contact one of the Cook County ILGenWeb Coordinators to be listed on this page. NOTE: Lookup Sources, along with copyright dates MUST be included in your LOOKUP OFFER email.

USGenWeb policy prohibits lookup volunteers from infringing on copyright, so please do not ask for large quantities of information, information on multiple people, or Xerox copies of pages from the resources.

These LOOKUP RESEARCHER and VOLUNTEER lists are intended as an aid for those who cannot hire a professional genealogist... they will not be used as a free advertising media for personal profit!

Cemetery Photo Service The South Suburban Genealogical & Historical Society (SSGHS) photographers will take photographs that you request of tombstones located in the following townships (we can also provide photographs of buildings or other landmarks of interest to you): South Cook County: Bloom, Bremen, Calumet, Lemont, Orland, Palos, Rich, Thornton, and Worth townships. East Will County: Crete, Frankfort, Green Garden, Homer, Manhattan, Monee, New Lennox, Peotone, Washington, Will, and Wilton townships. WE CANNOT PHOTOGRAPH AT OTHER LOCATIONS. You will receive color prints of the outside of the cemetery, an overview of the section where the graves are located and close-ups of the individual markers. There is a fee for this service. Cemetery Census Series - Master Index Do a search in our updated on-line Cemetery Master Index to South Suburban Genealogical & Historical Society Cemetery Census Series. There are 99 cemeteries included in the updated indices. Most are readings of the existing tombstones; others are compiled from records and/or research.	SSGHS
Altenheim Cemetery (Forest Park, IL) You must provide Name of person and (if known) date of death or burial. Cost: $5.00 per name. Results, if found, will be sent via email.	Bart Halleman
Catholic Cemeteries (Chicago, IL) Will do look-ups if name and date provided. 4 names per request. Will send results by email for no fee. These look-ups are done on a kiosk and since the cemeteries are all over the city photos are not an option.	Anne Nelson
